The EU will allocate to Ukraine €54 million for energy efficiency


The European Union will provide the following tranche in the sum of €54 million for work of Fund of energy efficiency. The agreement is planned to be signed until the end of the year. The European Union is ready to provide to Ukraine a tranche of €54 million for financing of programs of a state institution Fund of energy efficiency. About it on Tuesday, September 18, the vice-prime minister - the Minister of Regional Development, Construction, and Housing and Utilities Gennady Zubko in the Facebook has reported. "The European Union will provide the following tranche in the sum of €54 million for work of Fund of energy efficiency. The agreement is planned to be signed until the end of the year. It was confirmed today by the deputy head of general management on policy issues of the neighbourhood and negotiations on expansion of European Commission Catharina Maternova", - he has written to social networks. As have noted in the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, during the meeting representatives of Ukraine and the EU have discussed creation of Coordination council of donors on reform of energy efficiency. "We work more than two years with our European partners - the European Union, Germany, IFC - on creation of Fund of energy efficiency which is a part of implementation of key laws on energy efficiency. Already the competition on election of independent members of the Supervisory board of Fund started, all its structure will be created on November 14. The first power certificates of buildings are prepared. It is begun certification of power accountants. With 14 higher education institutions of Ukraine the program for training of power accountants started", - Zubko has reported. The Deputy Prime Minister has added that financing of Fund from the state budget of 2019 is also provided. In particular, the resolution on increase in authorized capital of Fund up to 1,6 billion UAH is accepted. Earlier it was reported that for receiving macrofinancial aid of the European Union to Ukraine it is necessary to satisfy conditions from the previous, third program. The EU Council has approved on June 26 granting one billion euros macrofinancial aid to Ukraine. On July 6 this decision has been published in the official publication of the European Union.
