One of creators of the Hubble Telescope died


Nancey of Grace Roman died at the age of 93 years. She was the first woman holding a senior position in NASA. In the USA the astronomer Nancey of Grace Roman who participated in creation of the Hubble Telescope died. About it on Friday, December 27, the Associated Press agency reported. The relative Roman specified that the scientist died on the night of Christmas after a long illness. She was 93 years old. On the website of NASA it is specified that in 1949 Roman received doctor's degree on astronomy at the Chicago university, and in 1959 came to work to the agency. Here she, besides other projects, was engaged in creation of Hubble who started in space in 1990. The scientist left NASA in 1979 then she worked under the contract for the Goddard Space Flight Center at the agency.
