Kuchma initiates the new truce in Donbass


The Minsk process demands additional legislative initiatives, the former president of Ukraine considers. The Minsk process demands legislative settlement from Ukraine, and the truce in Donbass can begin in the nearest future. It was said on June 3 by the ex-president of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma during the meeting with the president Vladimir Zelensky. He noted that "a security concern one of the main issues". However there are questions which need to be settled legislatively from Ukraine, Kuchma considers. During the meeting Kuchma said that he is going to initiate the new truce in Donbass for the period of harvesting in the nearest future. Also he reported that "there are already offers which can help to intensify the Minsk process". Besides, participants of a meeting "discussed the prospects of activization of negotiation process and necessary steps for this purpose". Let's remind, Kuchma represented Ukraine in tripartite contact group in 2014-2018 and left it in October of last year Nevertheless, on June 3 Zelensky appointed Kuchma the negotiator in Minsk.
