In the ocean found a bacterium which eats carbon dioxide

The unknown bacterium assimilates large volumes of carbon dioxide in own biomass through unknown process. In one of the deepest regions of the Pacific Ocean scientists found a bacterium which absorbs carbon dioxide and turns it into the power supply for other sea beings. About it on Wednesday, November 21, Newsweek reports. The scientist from the Geriot-Vatt University Andrew Svitmen together with colleagues made a number of experiments with silt in the fault zone Klarion-Klipperton and found something unusual. It turned out that the unknown till this time the bacterium absorbs large volumes of carbon dioxide. "We opened a deep bacterium which assimilates large volumes of carbon dioxide in own biomass through unknown process. Its biomass then potentially becomes a food source for other deep-water beings. Therefore what we opened is a potential alternative source of food in the deepest parts of the ocean where we thought nothing of that kind is not present", - Svitmen told. Scientists counted up to opening that organic materials, such as dead fish and plankton were the largest source of biomass at an ocean floor. The team of researchers is going to conduct new more detailed researches in the Pacific Ocean now. Earlier scientists found out that Earth devours huge amount of water. It was established that the planet is the reason of disappearance of a huge amount of water. Also it was reported that mysterious "tunnels" from Antarctica are found.
