In 2030 the new cars registered in the European Union have to have 35% less carbon dioxide (CO2) in the emissions. The relevant decision was made by Council of the European Union at the level of ministers of the environment at a meeting in Luxembourg on Wednesday, October 10, Ukrinform tells. "In 2030 new cars will be thrown out for about 35% of less CO2, than it is provided by present standard limits of emissions", - Elisabeth Kestiger, the federal minister of sustainable development and tourism of Austria which presides in the EU Council now said. Besides, the ecological council of the EU agreed to accept the offer of European Commission on the stimulating mechanism for cars with the zero or reduced emissions as completely electrical or hybrid machines. The target indicator for such cars for 2030 is lifted up to 35% of all vehicle fleet of the EU.
