Clubs of UPL broke a meeting in the House of soccer

At a meeting the issue of the UPL expansion had to be resolved. On Thursday, December 6, the general meeting of participants of UPL which was initiated by League had to take place. Clubs have to discuss and make the decision about two important questions — on the UPL possible expansion to 16 clubs and also the question connected with fight against fixed matches in Ukraine". However the meeting did not take place due to the lack of quorum. Initially the presence on an action was confirmed by representatives of all clubs of UPL, however then a half of them just did not arrive that as a result led to failure of a meeting. "Six clubs did not reach. Four of them told that at them cars broke. Now we cannot make any decisions", - the CEO Zari Sergey Rafailov told. "On the available information, calls with an appeal not to participate in the planned meeting came to clubs this morning. Also there was information that such calls arrived from employees or representatives of the Ukrainian Premier League. We declare officially that none of UPL of such calls did, and urged clubs to participate in a meeting. This information is not true. Considering critical need of decision-making on questions which were taken out on the agenda today's meetings, the League appointed date of new participants of a general meeting of UPL to December 20, 2018", - it is said in the statement on UPL website. "I already called this situation circus. I will say directly all the rest to the colleagues without cameras. To act unpresentably in relation to the Ukrainian soccer this way. The last such trend is a lot of years that we have two leagues. The first are two grandees who fight for the champion's title. Others are we, mere mortals who try to defend the opinion" — the CEO of the Carpathians Oleg Smaliychuk said. Let's add that six clubs which were not on a meeting became Shakhtar, Mariupol, Chornomorets, Vorskla, Alexandria and Lviv.
